As the rumours abounded it was finally revealed last week that Petter Solberg had spent some time in Scotland testing the Ford Focus. The big question being would the flying Finn finish this year`s championship in a Ford or a Citroen?
After much deliberation Petter Solberg decided to upgrade to the 2008 spec Citroen C4.
Although slightly underpowered compared to Sebastien Loeb`s car Petter explained that “It was a very difficult decision to make for the rally in Spain and for Rally GB. Spain will be hard but this will be the best car for there......I have so much experience in Wales”.
Ford boss Malcolm Wilson took the Solberg`s gracefully knowing full well that no decision has been made by Petter Solberg Rally Team on which car they are going to use for the 2010 Championship.
It`s all to play for Solberg, Ford and Citroen .......the rumours have already started!
